Professional Nonprofit Experience

JC Rodgers

Since 2010, Judy Chantry has represented JC Rodgers as Principal of the Fundraising Counsel.  Her career focus within the nonprofit sector has always been to build fundraising infrastructure in innovative and sustainable ways.  In her role as Principal, Judy keeps this focus clear in her approaches. Along the way, she has achieved numerous fundraising accomplishments which have greatly benefited the JC Rodgers nonprofit.  Key achievements include:

  • Rebuilt nonprofit’s fundraising foundation with focus on planned giving
  • Prepared foundation for $50 million capital campaign
  • Increased donation revenue 50% through first half of fiscal year

By far, Judy Chantry is an expert in generating new donors and sustaining connections with previous contributors.  Always keeping the future in her sights, Judy aims for a fundraising infrastructure that is as sustainable as it is impactful.

Urbana University

From 2009 to 2010, Judy Chantry stood as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Urbana University.  In this role, Judy was a member of the President’s Administrative Council.  Keeping in line with her career-long emphasis on sustainability, she focused on creating a long term strategic plan to increase donations.  She also re-engineered all levels and tiers of giving and reorganized Urbana’s annual fund.  Judy is credited with establishing community events and developing major gifts through her revitalization of corporate and foundation outreach.

Key accomplishments Judy Chantry achieved as VP for Institutional Advancement include:

  • Achieved 144% increase in giving for fiscal year (2010)
  • Achieved 61% increase in endowment giving for fiscal year (2010)

Ave Maria University

In 2004, 2005 and 2008, Judy Chantry stood as Director of Major Gifts at Ave Maria University.  In fact, Judy developed the Major Gifts Division within the larger Advancement Department.  Providing the University with a Division that focused specifically on major gifts would quickly prove effective for Judy.  Taking charge in the endeavor, she established and trained a team of three gift officers.  With a solid team under her supervision, Judy coordinated strategic planning for a $150 million capital campaign.  Proactive in her involvement, she also supervised seven direct reports, advised Ave Maria Latin American Campus fundraising efforts and oversaw the advancement role in the area of accreditation for the Southern Association of Colleges.
